Christmas is right around the corner! My kids, husband and I dive head first into all that the Christmas season has to offer. We've played in the snow, baked and decorated cookies, stayed in our pj's all day, watched movies with hot chocolate and today we made home made playdough. It is so incredibly simple, fun and easy! I add essential oils to my playdough for a lovely scent and all the health benefits that essential oils provide (click here for which brand of essential oils I use). Sensory Playdough
**This recipe makes 1 dough ball portion. I make a few batches so I can use different essential oils and colors** 1 Cup Flour 1 TBSP Vegetable Oil 1/4 Cup Salt 1 TBSP Cream of Tartar 10 Drops of Essential Oil (I used lavender and orange) Natural Food Coloring 1/2-3/4 Cup Boiling Water Combine flour, oil, salt, cream of tartar and essential oils in a bowl. Add food coloring. Add boiling water in increments until a sticky dough forms. Set the dough aside and allow it to cool slightly. Remove from the bowl and knead for a few minutes until the dough is soft and smooth. If your dough is sticky, knead in 1 TBSP of flour until desired consistency. Store wrapped in plastic and sealed in container to preserve freshness and softness.
