Natural Deodorant
Please follow these guidelines for deodorant usage
- Gently exfoliate your underarms during each shower or bath with exfoliating gloves or loofah sponge, this cleanses your pores and removes any additional beeswax.
- Use only a small amount, using a lot does not always mean better coverage. If the deodorant is cakey - you have applied too much and will increase sensitivity. A small amount will go a long way.
- If you have been using regular, chemical deodorant with aluminium, you may initially go through an armpit detox. Aluminium in store bought deodorant causes the pores on your armpit to swell up which blocks the sweat from coming out. Our deodorant is aluminium free and your pores will re-open and you may experience a detox. This means that the toxic waste that has been unable to escape will start to come out. This can mean extra sweating and odour for a period of 1-3 weeks.
- Factors such as diet, exercise, water consumption, coffee & alcohol will affect the detox process. Please continue to use our deodorant throughout the detox period.
- Freshly shaven underarms may experience sensitivity.
- Wash your underarms with warm water before bed.
- Please use our stick deodorant like a lotion bar. Apply a small, thin amount. Rub in excess with your fingers for better absorption.
- You may need to reapply more than once during the day. That’s ok! Everything in our deodorant is GOOD for your skin and your body.
- Be aware that there may be an adjustment period where you experience slight itching, mild tingling, etc. In the majority of people, this goes away after a short period of time.
- If you experience continued sensitivity to our deodorant (itching, rash or burning), you may need to use our Sensitive Skin Formula which is formulated for people who react to regular natural deodorant that contains baking soda. This is an occurrence in 25% of the general population.
- Discontinue use if continued irritation occurs.
- Be aware of possible discoloration onto clothing. If this occurs, wash your clothes same day. If the stain is stubborn, use a stain remover.
- If you have been using store bought deodorant, do not expect the same results immediately. Store bought deodorant plugs your pores with aluminium, which inhibits sweat. We NEED to sweat, it’s our body’s way of removing toxins.
- Your body may need a ‘cleanse’ from store bought deodorant. In order for natural deodorant to work well for you, you may need 1 month (max) of not using store bought deodorant and of using ours faithfully to see desired results.
- Our deodorant is NOT an antiperspirant and will not stop you from sweating.
-
- Please note: our deodorant is stiff and meant to be hard. That is what enables it to go on feeling dry. We recommend you ‘warm it up’ by holding it to your underarm for a few seconds before rolling
Storage
- Store your deodorant out of direct sunlight and at room temperature (medicine cabinet for example)
- Our roll up deodorants can withstand warmer temperatures but we suggest keeping them at room temperature as it will soften (but not melt) in heat

Natural deodorants I have used in the past just don't work for me, I still smell and sweat. What can I do?
- Most of our customers find the transition from store bought to our deodorant seamless however, we suggest you need to allow your body to adjust from using deodorant with chemicals to using deodorant with all natural ingredients. The aluminium in regular deodorant causes your underarm pores to swell shut which stops sweat from coming out - yuck! We advise that you need to give your body 1 month (max) of using only natural deodorant before it will work like a charm. We promise it will be worth it!
- Our deodorant is NOT an antiperspirant. It will not stop you from sweating but it will help absorb sweat and minimize odour.
- For best results, gently exfoliate your underarms during each bath or shower. This will optimize results.
Why has my deodorant started to turn a white colour?
- In the deodorant world, we call those 'cream lines'. That is what happens when natural ingredients oxidize. This does not affect how well your deodorant works and you should take great comfort when that happens! It means no chemical has been added to preserve or increase the shelf life. The shelf life of our deodorant is 12 months - it is not meant to last forever!
Please be aware of sensitivity on freshly shaven underarms.
After using your REGULAR deodorant with baking soda, I got red, rash-like bumps on my armpits - why? (may also experience a burning or itchy feeling)
- Be aware that there may be an adjustment period where you may experience mild itching, tingling or slight burning. This goes away in the majority of people after a short amount of time.
- Please ensure you have followed our usage guidelines, if you have followed all of our guidelines and still experience sensitivity, please switch to our sensitive formula. Generally, the red bumps, itching or burning goes away after a short time, however there are 25% of people who cannot use natural deodorant with baking soda. We have a Sensitive Formula that is baking soda free.
- Please read this article regarding your own PH level and how that affects your reaction to deodorant made with baking soda. In our experience, 1/4 or 25% of people will experience this. We do not offer refunds if you experience this. We suggest you use our Sensitive Skin formula which does not contain baking soda.
Does your deodorant stain clothes?
- Nothing in our deodorant is refined or bleached. We will not compromise our purity standards in order for our deodorant to be invisible. Invisible = chemically processed. Our deodorant is beige in colour and you may have some transfer to clothing. If that is the case, wash your clothes on the same day as transfer to remove or use a stain remover if the stain is stubborn.
Are your products organic?
- We use organic ingredients in everything we make. Every ingredient used in our products are of the highest quality, purest, in it's most natural form. There is nothing refined, bleached or processed. Our beeswax is organic and Canadian sourced, our coconut oil is organic, our shea butter is raw & unrefined and we use essential oils that are tested for all chemicals and pesticides (on top of many other levels of testing). We pride ourselves on the transparency of our packaging and labels and we strive to help you feel 100% confident in our products.
My VEGAN deodorant in the tin melted - now what?
- One of the main ingredients in our deodorant is unrefined, organic coconut oil. Coconut oil melts in MILD heat. We suggest you store and keep your deodorant in a cool, dark place (such as a medicine cabinet). However, it can be salvaged if it has melted. Simply place the deodorant container in the fridge to harden and once hardened, remove and allow to come to room temperature (not melted, just solid). With a small spoon, mix your deodorant until smooth to redistribute the oils and other ingredients. Use as normal.
-
- Please note - we are not responsible if your deodorant melts during shipment. We cannot control shipping temperatures. If it arrives melted or 'separated', please follow the instructions above and use as normal.
How do I know if I am allergic to any of your products?
- Please carefully review all our our ingredients and use our products only as directed. Do not use our products if you are allergic to any essential oil. If you have a reaction to one of our products, please discontinue use. We are not to be held liable to any reaction to our products.
